Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is a private, Catholic, four-year, co-educational institution serving over 5,000 students. Its 74-acre Chicago campus is located in a residential neighborhood, while its 35-acre Orland Park campus is surrounded by natural wetlands. Saint Xavier has organizations which encompass academic, artistic, social and athletic activities; and continues to rank in the top 25 percent of best colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
